School and industry are stronger together.

The current year 11 students taking part in the seminar subject „economics“ at the Amandus Abendroth Grammar School, Cuxhaven presented their final papers to guests from the Cuxhaven Elbe-Weser Business Association and the Network School, Industry and Academia in the new “think tank” conference room at the local Best Western Donner’s Hotel on 02.06.2017.

During the course of the year-long cooperation with Kaesler Nutrition GmbH the students acquired the basics on economics as well as strategic and operative marketing, and then used this knowledge to compile their term papers in the form of practical marketing concepts for a high-speed train, the Lostenviertel (part of town in Cuxhaven), a superfood bar and whisky made in Cuxhaven. The guests critically discussed the presentations on these concepts but also acknowledged the high quality. Everyone agreed that the cooperation with local companies is an important and welcome support for the school, but also of long-term benefit for the companies. The students thus become ambassadors that make Cuxhaven known locally and trans-regionally as an attractive perspective for skilled personnel. Headmaster Wolfgang Deutschmann and Dr. Plath intend to continue the cooperation, which has meanwhile been going on for 5 years, in the coming year.
